“Art Afloat”

A new initiative called Art Afloat is being trialled by a couple of volunteers looking to extend the use of Birdswood as a classroom.

MONDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 10.30am – 4.30pm
‘On the Cut’ linocut printmaking masterclass with Eric Gaskell GoWA RBSA, one of Britain’s finest linocut printmakers. Canals feature strongly in Eric’s work, and he has produced illustrations of many well known places on the system. Eric’s first workshop with us in May sold out quickly, so early booking is recommended. See some of Eric’s work at http://www.canalprints.co.uk

TUESDAY 3 OCTOBER 10.30am – 4.00pm
‘Autumn Colours’ – a masterclass in acrylic landscape painting with Derwent Valley artist and Peak District Artisans member Ruth Gray. This is Ruth’s second outing with Birdswood; her first, A Day of Reflection’ in July, was a sell-out success, so act now to reserve a place! Ruth’s varied landscape work often features local architecture and industrial heritage, and she was recently one of the contributing artists to the Aqueduct Cottage window panels project. http://ruthgrayimages.net
